Maureen Evans hands her grandson, Anthony Evans, his stuffed Mickey Mouse after waking him up in the morning. Maureen doesn’t need to leave the house until around 11:00 a.m., but gets Anthony up at 8:00 a.m. so the two both have time to get ready, even if Anthony has a tantrum or drags his feet. Anthony, whose father died, has been in the care of Maureen and John since 2011 when Anthony’s mother abandoned him along with two half-siblings.
