EMCEE: David Fitzsimmons, Arizona Daily Star cartoonist, columnist and funny man.

DRESS: Casual.

TICKETS: $15 each, which includes a slider basket and sides.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: By mail with a check/money order, postmarked by May 11. Pay online with a credit card through May 18 (note: includes $1 service fee).

Don't miss The Arizona Press Club's annual awards party -- a tribute to the state's best journalism -- at The Duce, a fun hangout in downtown Phoenix. Mingle with fellow journalists during happy hour and join us on the bleachers and picnic tables to find out who our award winners are.

We'll also bestow scholarships to deserving journalism students and the Distinguished Service Award to a veteran Arizona journalist. And we'll unveil the annual Arpaio First Amendment Disservice Award, aka the "Brick Wall" award, and the "Sledgehammer" award.

Tickets are $15 each, which includes a slider basket and sides. More food is available for purchase. The cash bar comes in several varieties: the spiked soda fountain, the spiked lemonade stand, the beer shack, and the bar. Valet parking is on us, but please tip the driver.

You can keep on partying after our celebration, with live music beginning at 9 p.m. Bring your coworkers!

REGISTER

Registration forms must include the names of all those attending. For example, if paying for two people to attend, list on the form each person paid for. Please note whether they work for the publication or are a guest, so we can keep the name tags accurate. You will receive an e-mail confirmation from the volunteer party crew soon, but we have day jobs so please don't expect it the same day you pay online.
